于欣格教授開發了新型柔性電子與生物集成電子,設計採用功能材料開發柔性功能的系統與集成電子在醫療健康領域裡的應用,在柔性電子與器件的領域已經取得了突破性的成績,相關的工作可以被應用於生物醫學的相關領域中。于欣格教授開發了一種輕柔、類皮膚、無線的觸覺回饋系統,該系統可以將傳統的聽覺和視覺虛擬實境(VR)技術擴展多觸覺的感知。該系統也被稱作「皮膚VR」,對電子器件通過無線操控,可以產生機械振動的觸覺。基於先進的設計,這種超薄皮膚集成的觸覺回饋系統被製備成皮膚一樣的形態並可以舒適的貼附在身體的各個部位。利用諸如手機、平板電腦和筆記本等觸控式螢幕介面可以無線的控制皮膚VR的觸覺驅動,並將相應對應的形狀力度等觸覺感知資訊傳遞到佩戴者身上。例如,皮膚VR的佩戴者可以感受到來自螢幕另一端親朋好友的觸摸。同時,于欣格教授團隊還將皮膚集成電子擴展到了人機交互界面中,用於控制機器人以及感受機器人的反饋從而實現機器人VR系統。此系統在人機交互下的機器人操控,手術以及護理上都展示了巨大的應用潛力。
