Prof. Rowbottom is an expert in the history and philosophy of science, who has also published extensively in cognate areas such as epistemology and philosophy of mind.
The funded project will involve a team of scientists and philosophers, who will work together to tackle epistemological issues emerging in contemporary science, which are likely to become more significant in future science. For instance, what roles should artificial intelligence play in scientific inquiry?
