Biography

  • Professor of Philosophy at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
  • Published over 80 articles on Chinese, German, and Jewish intercultural philosophy. His authored books include Chinese and Buddhist Philosophy in Early Twentieth-Century German Thought (Bloomsbury, 2017), Levinas, Adorno, and the Ethics of the Material Other (SUNY Press, 2020), and Daoism and Environmental Philosophy: Nourishing Life (Routledge, 2020).
  • Authored three books, edited/co-edited more than six anthologies as well as served as Guest Editor for special journal issues of Frontiers of Philosophy in China and the Journal of Chinese Philosophy.
